====== Turning off Wordpress website ======
One of the easiest ways I turn off my Wordpress site is to make the entire site HTTP**S** only.  You can do this by 

  - Go To: Settings --> General
  - Update **WordPress Address (URL)** such that
    - http://www.example.com (becomes)
    - https://www.example.com (note the change from http to https)
  - Do the above for **Site Address (URL)** as well
  - Importantly make sure your HTTPS site is configured to request [[http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/howto/auth.html|password]]
