Turning off Wordpress website

One of the easiest ways I turn off my Wordpress site is to make the entire site HTTPS only. You can do this by

  1. Go To: Settings –> General
  2. Update WordPress Address (URL) such that
    1. http://www.example.com (becomes)
    2. https://www.example.com (note the change from http to https)
  3. Do the above for Site Address (URL) as well
  4. Importantly make sure your HTTPS site is configured to request password
